LoK - Earthbound (OC)

I've missed RPing, so I'm going to try to get back into it a little bit on Gaia. This character shares a name, and probably some personality traits, with my Digimon OC, but will be used for a Legend of Korra RP. Also, anyone want to teach me about RPing on Tumblr? :3

Bio: Rumi is a feisty young Earthbender with ambitions to join the Pro Bending league. She believes in honesty though it might not always be comfortable, and is fiercely loyal to those who hold her trust. She is not opposed to conflict, and often chooses the combative approach to problem solving. Among her flaws are a quick temper and a penchant for sarcasm, both of which frequently get her into trouble.

She comes from an immediate family of non-benders. Her parents tell her that she has bending blood from both family lines, but the bending gene skipped their generation due to lack of spirit. She trained in Earthbending with her great grandfather and was taught the principles of Waterbending by her grandmother, and thus feels comfort in environments where the two elements exist in harmony.

Rumi is not a native of Republic City, but ventured there in search of additional bending instruction when her grandparents passed. Having grown up in an integrated community in the Earth Kingdom, the anti-bender sentiments in the city are alien to her. She arrived in the city near the beginning of Amon’s campaign and was unlucky to stumble upon one of the early anti-bending rallies within her first weeks in the city.

Her family remains in the Earth Kingdom, so Rumi lives with a non-bender cousin in the city.
