One Last SunsetToday would be the last day. She lay on the warm sand of the beach, the heels of her feet resting just above the crest of the small waves washing up on shore, eyes closed against the sunshine. It was funny to think how many times they had shared afternoons like this. Sandals and shorts scattered across the shore, skinny bodies divested of all but underclothing, pale legs disappearing beneath the water with a splash. A halo of wet blond hair. Goose bumps on arms from the chilly water. The first timid caresses, the bolder touches later on.

They would let the sun warm their bodies, and let each other warm the places the sun couldn’t reach

Finished :) Trying out a new method of coloring that forces me not to use the dodge/burn or smudge tools. I think I picked it up from some of the digital painters on DA.
